the only u2 concert film worth owning

U2's legendary Zoo TV tour is finally getting a DVD release.

A film of the 1993 tour, widely regarded as the most spectacular rock show ever staged, will be released on September 18.

'Zoo TV Live From Sydney' was filmed at the Sydney Football Stadium, Australia and was directed by David Mallet. It had previously only been available on VHS.

The footage has been upgraded and enhanced for its digital release, and will come with a host of extras.

As well as a single-disc, concert-only edition, the deluxe double set features documentaries 'Trabantland', 'A Fistful Of Zoo TV', bonus live tracks and footage from the infamous 'Video Confessional', where audience members would confess their innermost secrets for broadcast on the tour's massive screens.

Zoo TV marked the beginning of U2's reinvention. Trailing their beat-friendly 'Achtung Baby' album, it satirised nineties media overload and saw the stage decked out in hundreds of video screens, while Bono prank-called the offices of world leaders as his nightmarish 'Mister Macphisto' alter-ego.

The concert tracklisting is:

'Zoo Station'
'The Fly'
'Even Better Than The Real Thing'
'Mysterious Ways'
'One'
'Unchained Melody'
'Until The End Of The World'
'New Year's Day'
'Numb'
'Angel Of Harlem'
'Stay (Faraway, So Close!)'
'Satellite Of Love'
'Dirty Day'
'Bullet The Blue Sky'
'Running To Stand Still'
'Where The Streets Have No Name'
'Pride (In The Name Of Love)'
'Daddy's Gonna Pay For Your Crashed Car'
'Lemon'
'With Or Without You'
'Love Is Blindness'
'Can't Help Falling In Love'

------------------------------------

the first few minutes ... everything right up until bono sings the first words of zoo station ... are the most rock n roll moments in rock n roll ... the goose stepping - fighting to keep his arm down - the swagger - the final drag and toss ... its genius ... not to be denied

... everything after that is frosting

I prefer "Rattle and Hum" to any of the other films.

I agree.

Even if I had the flu when I saw it and horked up about $60 worth of Cork and Cleaver after.

Is this the same show as the ZooTV TV special? I have that taped somewhere, and I remember how strange but awesome it was.

Rattle & Hum is one of my favorite U2 albums, after October.
