There are 10 types of people in the world.

Those who understand binary. . .

. . .and those who don't.

I forgot to list Billy Cobham.
Most of it seemed to make some sort of sense at the time.

I'm surprised I'm the only person to list Dennis Chambers and Bill Bruford...

Welcome to my head. Holy shite...exactly what I was going to type. The exact sentence. Too weird.
Damn, count me in for #3. I'd throw in Mike Bordin, Bun E. Carlos, Kenny Aranoff as well.

But the top of them all would be....

Stewart Copeland.

Portnoy From Dream Theater Neil Pert from Rush but most of all Bonom is the by far best fornicatin drummer ever. Just because some drummers can play double bass fast dosent mean that they are the best. Most double bass tracks on recordings are seperate than the rest of the drum tracks. So if people say that slipknots drummer is the best they obviously don't listen to music very much sorry.

That is probably the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

dude im taking recording classes rite now and they were showing us how to cut and paste believe it or not. The other thing that alot of record companies do is have a replacement drummer (studio drummer) to play the spots for the pathetic worthless wanna be drummers.

How do you think Lars has recorded every Metallica album since the Black album???? Pro Tools baby!! Cut-n-paste, and yes a lot of those super fast double bass metal players record the double bass pedal tracks separately from the rest of the drum tracks. Record the basic drum tracks first, sans kick, then add the double kick later. It's better sonically, as well, but it actually speeds up the recording time because it's a whole lot easier to concentrate on those super fast triplets when you're not worried about hitting your cymbals, snare and tom fills at the same time.

Want to hear a real double kick player? Check out anything with Greg Bissonette on it. Get out of the metal world every once in a while.
