Fort Wayne metal band SARENE is now on the lookout and holding auditions for a rhythm guitarist. We are influenced by bands such as Killswitch Engage, Diecast, Unearth, Chimaira, All That Remains, etc. We're a band that likes to be heavy, but has excellent melody as well. We've tried out/talked to a couple of people and decided they are not who we are looking for. Here are some specifications for the position:

- Age 18-25, preferrable male
- Reliable equipment (half stack, ect.)
- Reliable transportation for practice and shows.
- Must be a solid, educated guitarist. Harmonizing will definitely be in order.
- Must be able to play at least 200 bpm. You must be able to accurately and easily keep up with anything we play.
- Solidity with the lead guitarist is a must. Nothing is worse than having two guitar players on stage that can't keep up with each other. You must become TIGHT with the other guitarist.
- Stage presence is a must. Be willing to go crazy on stage and give the crowd a good show. We want to have tons of fun, but be professional as well.

*We already have TONS of material written for upcoming new songs whenever we get around to learning them. Our only objective to getting a 2nd guitarist is to make our live shows sound more full and look more exciting. The lead guitarist just needs someone to back him up so that he can be freed up a bit. Rhythm guitar parts are already written for every song we have, we just need someone to learn them, and be on stage with us to play them (with your own ideas added into the mix of course)*

We usually practice on Saturdays and shows are usually on Saturdays as well. We can't do shows on Friday nights because of work conflicts, so Saturdays are show days.
Sarene is a band that is 110% serious about making this band a success, and we feel that we need a rhythm guitarist to make us sound more full on stage.
If you're looking to have fun and be intense at the same time, Sarene is the band for you!
Check us out on our myspace page at
http://www.myspace.com/sarenemetal to see what we're like. We just have a couple songs off of our demo up there, but we have a lot more songs done ready to play.

You can leave me a personal message here, or contact the band through our myspace page.

Thank you!

I'm not interested in joining this band, but I do have a question that I'd like to pose. Your intentions and requirements are very clear and I think this is a great post for this forum, but one thing you don't address is future writing.

I would not be interested in joining an original band to essentially be a cover artist. Would the guitarist that you choose to hire have equal say in future endeavors or is he/she intended to be a lap-dog forced to regurgitate what someone else writes?

Again, I enjoy your clear cut expectations and objectives. It's refreshing to see that in posts which are normally very vague around here. I hope you find what you're looking for!

Of course they'll be entitled to their own ideas, etc. i'm just saying that we have plenty of songs written already that are the way we'd like them to go, but as far as future songs...yes, input from everyone is definitely a plus!

I just don't want someone to come in and say "okay, this is how Iwant YOUR song to go". i've dealt with that in the past.

I am gonna go over to my mom's place and bi*ch slap her for never letting me get a guitar when I was a kid. Cause, I would be all over this if I knew how to play.

No, I understand that. I was just seeking clarification! Thanks for clearing it up. If I were younger and not in a band already, I'd consider this because it fits precisely what I am interested in.
