Female looking to join band

Hello. I am a 26 yr old female who is looking to join or start a band. I have never sang professionally, but I have won several karaoke contests and have always been told I should persue a career in music. It has always been my dream, but you know how life happens, etc. Well, I know that I am not getting any younger and I would LOVE to be able to sing and perform on stage. I am open to pretty much any kind of music. I LOVE 80's. I also like pop, r&b, country, rock (but not the screaming kind of rock..hehe).
