Something different & just for fun!?!

Post by FatBagger »

Bass player here! Would love to put together a band like Hank III's "Lovesick, Broke, and Driftin" or "Risin' Outlaw" stuff or any of Wayne Hancock's stuff! Somethin' that has that Rockabilly, Western Bop, Alt Country vibe to it! Definitely up for variations on the theme, but just wanna do somethin' different and a bit off the beatin' path! Feel free to hit me up with some unique and creative ideas in this genre and lets see what we can slap together!

Would consider psychobilly and the likes also....Tiger Army, Nekromantix, Koffin Kats type stuff! Heck, even the blues! I love music...all kinds, its just that there's too many bands playing that screamo stuff and it seems that eveybody wants to be hardcore or whatever it is that I see on here everyday! Don't get me wrong, I like all that stuff, and theres a place in my life for all of it! I just wanna corner a market that perhaps isn't as over-saturated as certain genres and styles as others seem to be! Hell, rack it up to getting older and being more into a mellow melody, groove, and a vibe than agression and speed! (sorry to those I offended with these comments, just my 2 cents worth)!

of you five upright bass players, anyone interested in a side project doing acoustic folk rock type stuff? It would be a 3 piece (lead acoustic guitar, occasionally acoustic rhythm guitar/percussion, and I would like a stand up bass player). Practice would be minimal once set list was learned (we have about an hour and a half worth of stuff right now that we are playing out. Would like to get to a 3 hour show). No style to compare it to really, just taking some well known covers and having some fun with them. There is some original music as well. Would like to do a half original/half cover show right now.

Playing out would be once every few months or every month depending on how much fun we have. The guitarist and I are both in another band that plays out regularly so this truly is a side project.

I like bass players who are fun and fairly busy on their instrument (within the parameters of the song of course)

If you're interested, let me know and we can talk about specific songs. Think like KT Tunstill or Norah Jones type stuff.

Sorry I kinda highjacked this post.
Thanks!
