Guitarist moving to Fort Wayne

Hello all,

I'm a guitarist moving to Fort Wayne and i'd like to get back into a band. I have obligations to my job that will require me to stay in the Fort Wayne area, so i can't travel that much. I can practice 2-3 times a week as long as it's later in the day.

Had a cover band in college in which we did tunes by GnR, Hendrix, Stones, Allman Brothers, STP and others of the Classic Rock/Rock genres. I'd like to to stay relatively in the same style of music, but i'm not picky. My favorite band is Umphrey's Mcgee, so that should give a general description of what i'm into.

I'm not looking to make it big, so if your looking for someone to drop anything and go on tour, i'm not your guy. I'd like to join a band that's staying in the area and playing at bars and parties. I'm 22, have all the equipment i'd really need and transportation.

I can also play bass(if i absolutely must).

There are several blues and open jam you can check out. Some times it's a good place to meet some good musicians and network. Pick up a Whatz Up magizine at the local guitar shops. It will have the listings.

thank you... I think... Now that we've hijacked this guy's thread... back on topic. Buckets has a great open blues jam - Tuesday nights. Mid-City has one too, but I can't remember what night. Munchie has open mic night - pretty much strictly acoustic singer/songwriter type stuff on Thursday, hosted by Mike Conley.

We need a Serious and Reliable Guitarist

Give us a shout. Sounds like you would fit in with us. We really don't do much classic rock right now but but we'd be willing to work with the right person.

Check out our post on this section under "Working Hard Rock - Metal Band seeks Serious Guitarist".

Give us a shout man, We have a lot to offer!

Brad, you know I love you and think you are one of the best bass players in this town, but I have a confession:

this made me giggle.
