Notre Dame WR Jeff Samardjia (sp?) signs a 5-year contract..

...with the Chicago Cubs! He will NOT play in the NFL and according to the Cubs, he's on pace to make it to the bigs in 2008.

He's got a great arm. He'll make it to the bigs with the Cubs and do OK for a couple of years. Then they'll trade him. He'll then go on to be a Hall of Fame pitcher with the Phillies or some other stupid team! Just like they did with Eckersley, Maddox (eventual HOF) or any other position player that does decent with the Cubs then they trade!
Either that...or he'll suck.

But, I seriously worry that they might just have drafted him. Now I've only got to worry about Calvin Johnson. Of course, just watch, he'll be the one receiver they pass on and end up being a perennial pro-bowler.

i know thats when they drafted him...
just thought he signed then too, as i also thought he pitched some games in the minors...
