There needs to be (american) football hooligans to liven up ND games.

Meh.

Today, I officially drop the 'O' from my last name.

It's not bad luck, just bad talent.

I'm not impressed Charlie. Fake punt on your own 30yd line
early in the game.

This "savior" brought to replace two other milquetoast coaches to redeem
a program, is only bringing more of the same,....

Victories against low/medium ranked teams, and the usual choke
when it comes to the big boys.

The drought continues.

I'd take Weiss as a head coach for my team ANY day of the week.

It takes time. You can't recruit a player and then plug him into the starting line-up the next day and expect him to win you a championship.

I'll give you that,... EXCEPT,.. these are the very same excuses
that we're given before. Weis is indeed extremely competent coach.
But, each of his (3) years have been virtually identical.
Chest beating in the beginning, a couple of stumbles,
a "somewhere in the top 20" rating at regular season end,
a bowl game, an embarrasing loss. Same same same!

This has been the pattern for at least nine years.
Of course a National Championship is the goal,
But,if they would just win a bowl game(any bowl game) then I
would shut my piehole up.

Phew, do I feel better,...... Free Therapy is a beautiful thing!

You can only do so much with what you have. The recruiting power has shifted in recent years. Notre Dame can't go out and get any player they want. Those players are going to Texas, USC, LSU, etc. It may take a few years, but Notre Dame will return to powerhouse stature eventually.

And I do understand your frustrations...I'm a Cubs fan and a Colts fan. Shoot me now.

Academics are a huge factor as well. ND can't even recruit 90% of the kids that go to LSU/Florida/USC/OSU/etc... Their recruits have to be accepted academically before Weiss can even offer a scholarship. Then they actually make their football players stay on target to graduate in 4 years. How many of the other top 20 teams do you think have academic regulations that strict? I'm guessing 0, unless Stanford has a good year.

Now, I'm no ND fan, but I do respect those standards and I think every school should do the same.

And by the way, WBOB...Weis has only coached ND for 2 years.

Thank you, you're correct.......(it's the lack of ability to
win a bowl game or any "big" game that's my frustration).

and to Bassjones, thanks for the academic info, which is also
correct and demands respect.

I've been a fan through (4) national championships, and
passion tends to overtake sometimes. sorry.

Dude has a BIF...

What is it about 'area' teams sucking ass in these big games? I was embarrassed to consider rooting for Michigan...

I hate O-State, but I hope to GOD they kick the sh*t out of FLA so there is some level of dignity to being in this area...

Sad...sad...it is...
