Who is that wierd ass band with the crazy name? The 1842 Alabama Bubblegum Conspiracy? The 1598 Pelloponesian Pop-Tart Debacle? The 1625 Alaskan Crabcake Incident? Nope, it's The 1947 California Cupcake Company.

I'm Josh, and I sing for 1947CCC. My best friend Ramon plays guitar and sings backup vocals. That's the band. We started playing music in December 1997. We played Metallica's King Nothing for my high school choir final that semester, and formed a metal band under the none too pretentious name "Destiny By Choice". Ramon on bass, myself on vocals, and some other friends from school on guitar and drums.

Creative differences eventually split the band (I just didn't want to do that many Iron Maiden covers), and Ramon and I set out on our own. We started playing shows in the back of Ramon's pickup truck. We would drive to large parking lots, sit in the bed of the truck with Ramon's acoustic guitar and my voice, and try to bring over a crowd. Eventually, it worked.

8 and a half years after we started, Ramon and I continue to make music, though we've left the truck behind and now play on stages to packed houses. We strive to make our live shows as entertaining as possible with crowd interactions, special guests, and unexpected takes on classic cover tunes. Our originals range from sublime to absurd, and sometimes both. We'd love to see as many of you as possible at any upcoming shows, so please come check us out.
