Just to make a slight correction:

I talked to Kate some more about this, and she says that a musical or SHakespeare will go 6 to 8 weeks of rehearsal, but a regular comedy or drama usually gets done in 4 to 5 weeks.

But rehearsals are five nights a week, and often an extra on SUnday PM. During performance weeks, you can count on doing a brush-up on Thursday night, too. All depends on the show or the director.

That's what it was back when I was doing shows. It seems not much has changed in 15 years.
There are 10 types of people in the world.

Those who understand binary. . .

Yeah, but 15 years ago, many of us didn't have to worry about kids, work and a mortgage:)

Kate Black has been in everything: recently at First Pres inOur Town and Twilight of The Golds (among others), tons of stuff at Arena and Civic... we recently saw her in Sylvia and a staged reading at the studio theater at IPFW... before Kate moved back to Fort Wayne, she was a professional Equity actress in San Francisco, and since coming back to raise a family she's one of the best known and most highly skilled actors in town.

Probably. Finding out about auditions wouldn't be a problem, though. They're usually listed on the theatre's website.

um yes

7-10
7:30-10:30
These are standard rehearsal times--most straight plays will go up in anywhere between 3(that is a little rough!) to 6 weeks.

Depending on the type of show and type of role you have/what type of director you have you may not have to be at rehearsal every night. Brush-up rehearsals are typically reserved for very physical plays or very wordy plays (or plays with people who forget their lines often)

Kate Black is awesome.

Fleek if you are interested in getting your feet wet, PM me and I will tell you what director(s) you might want to steer clear of---

3 or 4 years ago I did a ton of acting at Civic. Rehearsals ran Sunday - Friday, usually 3 - 4 hours per night. The shows ran 3 weekends, 4 shows / weekend. It's all kinds of fun if you've got the time. But it is a HUGE time commitment.

I do theater at Northrop and it's fun. (don't do musicals either)

Funnest thing I've done is The complete works of William Shakespear: abridged
