Sore Loser
Just because you're not nominated, that doesn't mean you can't come support your friends...

It's a big brown-nosing, "let-me-pretend-like-I-like-you" festival where a lot of really good talent doesn't even get mentioned let alone show up. It's politics. Nothing else.
Kidding. But not really. Yes. I'm kidding. But no. But then, sort of and then not. Get the idea? I'm just being a dik. Ignore me.
And Jones, mark my word, I will NEVER, repeat, NEVER give a shite if I EVER get nominated or even mentioned for this show. OK? Mark it. This day, 2/22/07. You will NEVER see me stump for me or "my band" for a Whammy nomination. EVER. If I do, you can "Borat" my face with your big, hairy ass....as long as Atherton won't get jealous.
But have fun. And good luck to all. Seriously. It's a nice opportunity to play and hear some great music.
Homos.

I must concur with Mr. Dagwood. What is the point of an awards show where Francie Zucco keeps winning "Best Jazz Performer?" I mean.... c'mon.
No sour grapes here. I don't gig, and so don't require the frustration of the Whammys for my own rants about politics and mindlessness. I've got the Addys to keep me warm.

Would, if I wasn't putting on my own show.

By the way, Jones, I will continue to support NORA whenever I can...just not at Piere's.
And I rock a NORA sticker on my car EVERY DAY.
So there.

I hear you. There are tons of jazz musicians in this town who blow her away... And Sunny Taylor, as much as I do love her, wins everything every year, even a year like this when she really hasn't played very much... There are, however some nice surprises on occasion - hopefully we'll be one tonight.
Still, it's a lot of fun seeing everybody and seeing some artists I don't otherwise get to see..

That's cool. I was just giving you shite anyway. Not serious at all, but I imagine you knew that.

Ahhhh...the Addy's were a beautiful thing. Fun time at OLG afterwards, too.
I was there with Eric & it sure was nice to see him rack up some very well deserved awards.

I must concur. Lots of talent at the Addys this year. And the voiceover on the awards reel? Priceless. That SOB shoulda won an Addy himself. Maybe two or three, based on the 17 page script.
