Greetings folkers
The DID is hosting round 2 of the Wayne Calhoun Troubadour Series tomorrow night (Friday, June 2nd) featuring two of the area's best bands, lo-automatic and the Matthew Sturm Band. $5 cover, all ages, 7PM, on Calhoun Street between Wayne and Berry.
I keep hearing that lo.automatic is northern Indiana's answer to Wilco.
I keep hearing that Matthew Sturm is northern Indiana's answer to Ryan Adams.
For this reason, I expect them to throw down by the end of the night.
Here's the same ol poster I'm sure you're sick of seeing:

right when the overcast hit, i checked the radar and could see it was a really small storm....it passed in about an hour, the sun came out, i headed downtown...and it was a ghost town.
hopefully there will be some sort of protocol establish in case this happens again-too many people work too hard for something to be cancelled so easily.

Agreed. More backbone needed. Too much work to throw it in that quickly.

It's really too bad, I hear that lo.automatic has a new bassist and that it was going to be his first show w/the band. Perhaps next time....

You can't have all that sound equipment laying around in the wet street and expect any of the city's sound engineers to want to have their gear out in those conditions. And the possibility that another shower could happen is just too great a risk.

i was told there would be a make-up date. we were going to wait but the sound guy said it was in their contract to pack up if it rains. it was the right thing to do, but a plan b would've been nice. hopefully they will come up with one for the remaining shows.
